iPhone/iPad Setup (iOS)

Download VPN app from App Store
Search "NordVPN" (or ExpressVPN/Surfshark). Download the official app (check publisher name).

Open app and sign in
Use your email and password from account signup.

Grant VPN permissions
When prompted, tap "Allow". iOS will ask to add VPN configuration. This is normal.

Select a server location
Tap "Locations", choose Australia (or another country), and tap the server.

Tap "Connect"
Wait 3-5 seconds. You'll see a "Connected" indicator at the top of the screen.

Enable "Always-On" (optional but recommended)
Settings → VPN & Device Management → VPN → Turn on "Connect on Demand". Phone auto-connects to WiFi.

Download VPN app from Google Play
Search VPN provider name, verify publisher (NordVPN Inc, ExpressVPN Ltd, etc.).

Install and open the app
Tap "Install", then "Open".

Sign in with your account
Email and password from signup.

Grant permissions
Android will ask permission to set up VPN. Tap "Allow".

Choose a location and connect
Tap "Locations", select Australia, then hit "Connect".

Enable auto-connect (recommended)
Settings → Auto-connect → Enable "Connect on App Launch" or "Auto-connect on WiFi".

Split Tunneling (Advanced)
Route only specific apps through VPN, others through normal connection (save bandwidth).
Mobile VPN Troubleshooting
❓ "Cannot connect" error
Fix: Switch to a different server location. Try US or UK server. Some servers may be congested.
❓ Very slow speeds
Fix: Try connecting to a closer server (Sydney for Australia). Or try WireGuard protocol (if available) instead of OpenVPN.
❓ Battery drains faster
Fix: Normal for VPN (constant encryption uses CPU). To reduce: disable auto-reconnect, limit app updates via VPN.
❓ Apps don't work with VPN
Fix: Use Split Tunneling to exclude that app from VPN. Or contact VPN support (they may whitelist the app).
❓ "Hotspot is disabled while using VPN"
Fix: This is an iOS limitation. Turn off VPN to use hotspot, then re-enable on other device.

- Always connect before using public WiFi (café, airport, hotel)
- Keep VPN app updated (security patches)
- Disable auto-connect only if needed (battery saving)
