Methodology
Speed claims made by VPN companies are marketing. The only numbers that matter are the ones you measure on your own connection — so rather than publishing figures that won't transfer to your NBN tier, ISP or suburb, this page shows you how to run a fair test yourself.
How to run a fair test:
- Test at both off-peak (10am) and peak (8pm) hours — NBN congestion is real
- Try more than one protocol (WireGuard, OpenVPN, or the provider's own)
- Test an Australian server, plus an international one (US, UK) if you stream overseas content
- Use the same tool each time — speedtest.net or fast.com
- Average several runs; single results are noisy
